The Ipswich Winter Night Shelter has relied on donations from local churches, groups, companies and individuals in order to run for the last 7 years.
This year we will receive some funding support from the Government (via Ipswich Borough Council). This funding will cover most of the costs associated with opening for an extra 8 weeks (see more here). We will be reliant on local support in order to run the shelter for the rest of the winter.
The Ipswich Winter Night Shelter is one of Selig (Suffolk) Trust’s projects. Selig is a registered charity (number 1157245) delivering two church based projects in and around Ipswich. You can read more about Selig’s work in Suffolk here.
Wherever possible, we will respect your wishes if you ask us to allocate your donation specifically to the Ipswich Winter Night Shelter.

In addition to the Ipswich Winter Night Shelter, Selig runs Ipswich Hope into Action – a project providing local homes for those who were homeless.
Our Hope into Action homes have provided supported accommodation in partnership with local churches for 8 tenants so far. 5 of these tenants came from the Ipswich Winter Night Shelter. 1 tenant came to us from a winter night shelter in another part of the country. 2 tenants have already successfully moved on and are now each renting their own social housing flat.
